I originally made this nice chilly abstract to start out 2012.

I made two 3D renders of this virtual chandelier model in Vue, this warm "sunset" version, and another with cool evening lighting that I called Twilight in Crystal.

I found this virtual chandelier model and decided to render a close-up of it in Vue. I made a couple versions, this one with cool evening lighting, and a warmer, more colorful version I called Sunset in Crystal.

This was an experiment in digital reflections and refractions.

This was the result of playing around with gradient overlays and an old Apophysis render that had been calling for me to find a use for it. The jewel is actually the first one I ever designed in 2008 following a tutorial, but for some reason I missed the part about how to add the shine and couldn't figure out why it looked so flat . Three years later I finally revisited it and came up with this.

I wanted to do a 3D version of Circular Reasoning, illustrating Infinity. Instead of atoms circling in outer space, they spin into the distance of an alien water-world.

This is my stylized version of Nenya, the ring of water, one of the three Elvin-rings. The background is an Apophysis fractal, the rest was drawn in Paint Shop Pro.

The golden spiral can be found frequently in art and nature, including some galaxies and nautilus shells. I was playing around with this shape and with a fractal design in a similar spiral, and came up with this geometric design.

This Christmas-themed illustration uses several Apophysis fractals for texture. I had seen another wallpaper with hanging ornaments like this and wanted to try something similar. The golden swirl fractal is one of my particular favorites, and it worked well as an ornament design.
